Because while ordering ahead isnât a new idea, the way Hot Plate makes it work for small-batch baking? It just feels easier. Order ahead, stress less.
In this post, Iâll walk you through how it works, what you can expect, and why it might just become your favorite way to shop with us.
And if youâre ready to try it, subscribe to Hot Plate and get 10% off your first order with the code WELCOME10.
What Is Hot Plate?
Hot Plate is our online ordering platform. Instead of showing up and hoping your favorites are still there, you can scroll the menu, choose exactly what you want, and order it ahead of time.

How It Works (Simple, We Promise)
Hereâs the rhythm:
- Youâll get a text when each drop opens
- A reminder before ordering closes
- And a pickup-day reminder if youâve placed an order

We open a âbake dropâ about a week before pickup. If youâre on our text list, youâll get a notification when it goes live (think of it as your early nudge before things start selling out).
From there you can review our menu, place your order and choose your pickup time.
Pre-orders close about 2 days before pickupâbecause sourdough (and a lot of what we make) takes time, and we bake everything fresh just for you.
The biggest tip? Order early if you have your eye on something specific, as quantities are limited.
What Youâll Find on Hot Plate
Youâll see all your Cookie Cart favoritesâcookies, scones, sourdoughâbut also:
- Larger quantity options (like 2 or 3-packs of scones)
- Specialty items like bagels and English muffins
- Seasonal extras and holiday drops (cookie boxes, dinner rolls, and more)
tâs a little like getting first pick before the market even opens.

Why People Love It (And We Do Too)
Hot Plate takes makes things easy.
It sends you a text when a drop opens, reminds you before it closes, and even nudges you on pickup day so nothing gets left behind.
Are There Fees?
There is a small fee per order (similar to other online platforms like Uber or DoorDash), and taxes of course apply.
But for being able to order exactly what you want, skip the stress, and know itâll be waiting for youâitâs a trade most people are happy to make.
Payment Options
All orders are paid ahead through Hot Plate.
You can use:
- Credit or debit card
- Apple Pay
- Or Venmo (for returning customers, youâll see this option at checkout)
Picking Up Your Order
When:
Youâll select your pickup date and time at checkout. Pickup is typically Saturday or Sunday between 9 am and 1 pm, and weâre working to expand those windows soon. Orders can also be picked up at the Milton Farmers Market.
Where:
Weâre in Crabapple, just behind Cagle Castle/Etris Road. After you order, youâll get all the details. Park on the grass or in the driveway.

What if you forget?
You wonât đ Hot Plate sends a text reminder the day of pickup. And if youâre running late, just let us know; weâre always happy to work with you when we can.
